    Yeah, i've tried.
I suspect that i've bricked my because of unchecking loader from tool provided with ROM (in instructions it says it is unchecked by default, and mine was checked so i thought that i've checked it on accident and unchecked it). I'll try procedure for unbricking

Re: Pipo M6 Pro RileyROM 1.8 KitKat

giouncino and riley, I am new to freaktab, and new to Rockchip, I come from the Samsung ,Acer, cyanogen world. Needless to say, this was quite a difference. I received my Pico M6 PRO Friday and within a couple hours had my stock 4.2.2 rom dumped and saved, and Riley ROM 1.8 flashed. For the most part, everything works fine, however I do have a couple of questions, hope you will be kind to a newbie.

      1. The additional kernels posted appear to be only for the purpose of improving the benchmarking and probably game performance. I really don't do much gaming. I do play a few videos, use Chrome cast for most now, and do a lot of emails, RSS, etc. Stability and battery life are what's most important to me. I pounded heavily on the Pipo yesterday, and it responded pretty well, I did have 2 times where I had to "recover" from what may have been SOD, though I am too new to this tablet to be able to say for sure. Are all the extra kernels just geared to adjusting voltages and frequencies to improve the benchmarks? Are any of them just for stability and battery life?

Another area that concerns me a little is the SDCard. I only purchased a 16g internal model. I did buy a 32 gig external SD card, but it appears that Kitkat 4.4 is now trying to block the ability to reroute things like the Download folder, and the Pictures folder, etc , from the internal sd to the external sd. I have installed Xposed framework, and tried to use the Downloads2sd module, but it didn't work. Is there another way to do this?

Thanks for all the hard work on these tablets and this forum. I probably wouldn't have even considered a Chinese tablet if it weren't for Freaktab. I hope to be able to kick in a donation very soon.

Check to see that the format of your external SD card is FAT32. If it's NTFS, there's your problem. All the way up to Jellybean, I told people to format their SD cards with NTFS, but when KitKat came out...I ran into these problems being able to use the external SD.

Run a chkdisk from Windows on your external SD card and see if there is any corruption.

Also, make sure you have root rights activated on your file manager app. I use X-Plore and it works just fine with this ROM...ES File Explorer works also, but getting it into root mode is a little tricky.

          1. It's not for benchmarking at all! I used antutu only to evaluate the improvement with numbers!. All kernels have modified freq for RAM and most of the time for CPU to grant better GENERAL responsiveness.
Some of them has reduced voltages (like the "very_low_V2", that has the LOWES voltages for all the states of CPU and RAM) and can improve general performance increasing battery duration (of about 1 hour!).
Pay attention that the stability of the tablet is driven by how is lucky your cpu... So, using mod kernels could lead to tablet instability on some cases!

I just put together a new ROM from that Jellybean firmware mentioned above.

Please direct any comments related to the new ROM to the new thread....let's leave this thread open for KitKat discussion.

If anyone runs across a new KitKat update, let me know and v2.0 will be the next KitKat ROM.

SO HAPPPPY with this Riley kitkat rom

              Hi
I bought my M6 pro like 3 months ago, and all it's given to me since then has been disapointment. I dont know if it was only me, but with the original JB rom, it sucked, really: lags, DAILY freezes, endless bootings....well the worst running android device I´ve ever had, and I've had a lot.
I was waiting for Pipo to release kitkat officialy, but tired of it, I decided to try this Riley Rom...and thank God I did it. It runs like silk, I restored my many apps from titanium backup, and it all works. As some have said, the only things not working properly are HDMI and GPS, but I can temporaily live without them.

So, RANDY, THANK YOU (already thanked in paypal too) and CONGRATULATIONS for your great job, you're really doing us a big favour. Also, instructions were very clear and easy to follow.

About GPS, I'm playing around with a new kernel that could improve GPS, 3G and wi-fi...
I need only time to perform some testing...
                Stay tuned!

did you find any fix to the camera problem?
it works fine with the stock camera app, but in others apps it freezes, like barscanner, qrdroid, etc.

Sorry, I haven't found a fix for that.

these will slightly improve GPS and have other interesting features!
