Perhaps out of topic...but prior to play with different roms and kernels...how can I do a complete backup from my stock ROM? Any detailed guideline/tutorial?
I have a 809iii stock kitkat ROM with rtl8723bs chipset but I see bad WiFi performance (even good reception when no close to the router, bad or no transfer rate) and I wanted to change kernel to d33 one for this chipset

My friend just bought a device with the ESP8089 + MT6622N chipset.
The ESP8089 kernel works fine without bluetooth, I haven't looked to see if the source is available for the bluetooth but if so can you please make a kernel if possible? no problem if not as he can live without it, but they may become more prevalent in the future. It may be a known issue bluetooth doesn't work and I have simply skipped over this information.
I currently have the device so can test if needs be.
Edit: Also if anyone is running the ESP8089 on 4.4 can you please tell me what ROM you're using? I am having major problems either A) getting 1080p to work or B) the wifi keeps turning itself on and off constantly.Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III
Retired Devices:
MiniMX III-II | Mk808b Pro | Mk808b Plus | Raspberry Pi 1 + 2 | UBOX R89 | MK808 | MK808b | CS008 | X1 4K (rk3288_809) | CYX_809III | Ouya | CX-919 | S82 Plus | Tronstmart R68

neomode rom 3.1 and d33 kernels
Do the d33 kernels work with the neomode 3.1 rom?
I have one of the MK809iii sticks with the ap6210 wifi that has the different gpio pins for turning the wifi on. And I can't seem to find a working rom/kernel combination.
My board is the one that says 2013-06-17 CXYTECH_RK3188_909 V1_1 with 8GB Flash and 2GB ram.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Are these kernels (sd/hd) tested with a j22 tv stick? I m asking because none of them works on my cx-919ii.
No wi-fi and no bluetooth, dunno about LAN, i´m not using it.
D33, it would be nice if u could fix it. Thx in advance.cx-919ii

compile from source for CS968
Hello D33,
Firstly, thank you for your great work! I have a CS968 with MT5931/MT6622 need some new features so I try to compile the kernel from source. What I tried are,
- use defconfig (k3188_box_costdown_kitkat_defconfig, rk3188_box_pancake_kitkat_defconfig or rk3188_magicwand_kitkat_defconfig), change the CONFIG_MT5931=y, CONFIG_MT5931_MT6622=y, CONFIG_MTK_MT5931=y and CONFIG_RFKILL_RK is not set. I was able to compile the kernel.img and boot ok but the wifi and bt didn't work.
- use the config.425 rename to .config then compile, the kernel.img couldn't boot.
- I downloaded the kernel image you built at http://www.freak-tab.de/d33/kernel_KK_v4.2.5_MT5931.zip, it boots ok and both wifi, bt work!
- I pulled the config.gz from step 3, and use it to compile, didn't boot like step 2.
Please help, what I missed? I am really appreciated.
