Neomode Custom Rom MK809III Version 3.1 Android 4.4.2 *Update*

I have tested it on my mk802 iv - t chip and things are slightly confusing but overall this is the best rom I have tried. Ok this is what I experienced soo far:
- I've installed oc'ed kernel 1.6ghz with srock gpu and 720ddr (the one that neo provided) and it's working flawlessly. Going between desktops and drawer is flipping fast and smooth. Video playback is awesome and xbmc is working like never before The only issue is that cpu cannot be overclocked to 1.6ghz. I'm not sure if ram is overclocked but the kernel is awesome anyway.
- I also tried loads of t kernels from d33 topic but they don't perform as good as neo's ones. I mean for the firs time I was able to overclock cpu to 1.6 and gpu and ddr. Antutu score was 19k ( neo's kernel gives me 16k). The thing is those kernels are sloooow. Switching between desktops and other built in animations are choppy and laggy. Video is not playable. In general kernel gives better benchmark score but in real life is useless.
- finally my webcam is working which is huge thing for me.

All neo`s kernels are HD (720) and they are fast. The kernels by D33 are FHD and vrey sloooow

Yes we know it. The 3.xx and 2.xx Kernels not works with this Kit Kat. There are some changes. We work in the Background to make it Work.

My experience with D33 kernels is the same as Foka002. D33 kernels are really slow with NeoMode 3.1. They output terrible HD video (both 720 and 1080p) in beyond xbmc. I reverted to neomodes oc kernel 1.6Ghz stock gpu and 720ddr and everything in the android os is running very smooth and quick. However No frills CPU shows no increase in Max CPU speed (still 1.42ghz).

I have set the screen resolution (in android os settings) to 1080p 60hz. When I use MX player to play a 1080p movie with DTS sound it plays perfectly and I also get DTS-passthrough to the surround receiver. Then I play the same movie with Beyond XBMC and get terrible video performance and NO DTS-passthrough!!! I don't understand why? I really like the concept of Beyond XBMC and that is the media player I want to use.

So this renders a couple of questions:
1. Will Neomode release the oc kernels but with working cpu overclocking for the T-chip?
2. Is there a way to make Beyond XBMC output DD/DTS-passthrough in NeoMode 3.1?
3. Why is Beyond XBMC HD output so bad compared to MX player?

I am aware that I'm repeating my self from earlier posts. This is so frustrating.

it is not real FHD in oc kernel by Neo, it is upscale HD (720) to FHD (1080)

So what happens when I play a 1080p movie? Or do you mean that the "desktop" resolution is upscaled but 1080p movies will always play as 1080p?

I would agree higerh anutu scores but worse video playback.

I am going to test this new 3.1 Update on my CX-919 V2.0 (with FULL RK3188) today, so would like to know if anyone here have successfully installed this new ROM on the CX-919 and which of the 8 OC kernels works best and safe with this TV-Stick without cooling.?


Neomode already mentioned that a Max 1.7Ghz GPU-Stock DDR667, should work without cooling, and I know that the CX-919 apparently should work with moderate OC without overheat problems, but which of the 8 kernel files should work faster on the CX-919 without overheating or damage the TV-Stick?:

Stock Kernel works as expected on the mk802IV/sb.

All the overclocking kernels give weird results like 12.ghz-to1.4ghz or 1.2ghz-1.2ghz.

D33 roms do work but video is stuttering with this rom.

Hi Neomode,

first, thanks for this great rom.

There are only 4 problems left with my MK802IV Stick.

1. Android doesn't remember 2 settings after rebooting-Sound Device and Screen Scale
2. Reboot App doesn't work. Tried to reboot -> System hangs
3. The Bootscreen appears only for one second, then blackscreen until 'Desktop' appears.
4. After trigger squeeze cameras her exposition always setting to minimum.(Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000)

That's it. Would be nice if you could please fix these bugs, because it's a great rom. I like it.

This is what I did. Download xbmc updater apk from play store and download monthly or nighties version. Xbmc 13.0 support hw acceleration and with this kernel it works perfectly.

Neomodes oced kernels. I can't tell if dts passtrough is working cos I don't have any dts movie atm. Cheers

my device is MK809III and there is a writing on front of the device it says Android mini PC
Everything works. In 4.4.2, only wifi and bluetooth does not work.
I went back to 4.2.2 software.

Thank for a great ROM, working perfect on my MK802IV. Only issue are that touch dosent work on my Pioneer Appradio (Bluetooth controlled). After reading different threads about this subject, one issue is "Root" My question are!! can we be sure that root is working correct or can you tell me what tool I shall use to re root kit kat 4.4.2
