TWRP is currently compiling and booting just fine...

I just need to make some configuration changes and complete testing.

I'd really love to port that rkimage update feature from the rockchip sdk and add it to TWRP... I found the necessary parts in the rockchip source code... just need to learn how to add a new button/command in TWRP and it should be possible...

Well... depends on you how define almost...

There isn't much left to do to get a standard TWRP build working as epxepcted, but not sure how much work porting that rkimage update feature might take... and the biggest concern is that I'm not sure when I'll have time to look at it.

I think my next priority is going to be getting you guys some patches to change the /data and /sd card sizes.

I see on the sdcard thing. But the rkimage is how hard to port to twrp?

Not sure... it'll be the largest source code change I've ever worked on...

The related parts in the rockchip sdk look pretty simple... two stand alone source files, plus some lines in a third file for the menu selection...

I'm not very familiar with TWRP theming, so I need to learn how to add a gui button to the layout, and how to attach code to the button click... that should be about it... I hope...

I can always release a standard version of TWRP while I work on porting the rkimage flashing feature.

go with the standard first then add the things you want to it
plus used art and i suggest many dont use it. storage gets full quick and things break. so use dalvik only

That's the current plan... I need to get all the standard features working before I proceed any further anyhow.

Question is how finished is the standard and how much is left to compile

                      FYI

My new ROM has been sent to a few people for testing.

As soon as I get some feedback, I'll release it publicly (assuming no issues are reported.)

Just don't use ART. Eats memory fully. Use dalvik mostly stable and no bugs nor glitches

I played with ART a little, but some of my apps didn't support it... switch back.

The stock update was decent... I didn't do much to it beyond enabling additional features.

Change the /data /sdcard sizes, install your favorite apps and some xposed modules at it should serve well.
