What I did:
- wired connection.
- Installed the latest Kodi version
- Audio passtrough by spdif to Sony amp (on Android settings menu and Kodi)
- HDMI directly to projector
- I have the latest firmware that was posted here (it was already included when I booted the box for the first time)
Results:
- Music on Kodi sometimes has hiccups (have to check out if it is bitrate dependent).
- Video on Kodi runs smoothly and so does the audio except when passing through Dolby or DTS - in this case the amp recognizes the encoded Dolby and DTS but has hiccups every few seconds - is there a fix for this? Does it also happen through HDMI?
- Everytime I boot the box I have to go the the Android settings and revert the audio output from HDMI to SPDIF (this is annoying). Does this happen to anyone? Any fix for this?
Thanks in advance

hickups/lag on audio passthrough happens on HDMI as well. hope this can be resolved as streaming 5.1 Video was what I intended do do with the X2 mainly
/Update
DTS 5.1 passthrough works flawlessly with MX Player if you switch to HW. It does not work with HW+!Last edited by Wurstpelle; 12 October 2015, 19:35.

Hello my good friends.
First of all, sorry for my poor english. And for some "spelling" problem
So , i decide to buy this box, because the price is cheap and i saw that the opinion is good one about this product. My friend buyed phew month ago from china a no-nam S812 Amlogic and crash/stuck in almost apps.
Well and now my question. I read it about connection and i dont see any problem (hdmi to receiver) But i need to know if the box come with a root or unroot Android. Need to know that because i use a phew apps (tv stream from Romania, like telekom, dolce or voyo) that work ONLY with unrooted device. I tried to cover rooted deviced with apps like Hide my root or Root cloack without results.
On video reviews on youtube i saw SuperUser icon in app list so i think its rooted device. But in the first pages from this topic users said thet it is unrooted. Gerbest dont answer yet, so i decide to ask your help
Thanks in advance

Hi rudolfo,
Passthrough hdmi audio playing a vedio (30Mbps 1080P 30fps mpeg2 dts) is ok. I will check more vedios and SPDIF.
The next version will fix the problem that SPDIF be switched to HDMI after reboot.
Thanks your valuable message.

Thanks TRIGTOP for your quick reply. So, its a rooted device but with chance (and your help) to be unrooted. True?
I told about another device who is block and stuck. Its a no name OEM brand from China, something with a huge blue light in a front. If i remember its MXII. Whatever. Was a cheap but not so good tv box. My friend regret now the money. Thats why i choose X2.
In conclusion : unrooted X2 its a hard or easy procedure? Because im an old nOOb in Android

Hi Karmakid,
For recovery preinstalled kodi, you can do "setting -- backup&reset---factory data reset". Cautions: this actions will lose all your personal data, such as your app and some setting data and datas located at local memory.
About audio pass through hiccup, I will give reply later .

As the opinion from Wurstpelle, you can try to do compare with wired connection. Overheat is impossible. tks

I was re-encoding stuff for the M805 unit, now I don't need to.
And a -1 on the lack of an Audio out though, I like to listen to the streaming radio, using an amp and speakers, for this to work I had to buy an SPDIF/Phono adapter, a headphone socket would have solved this lack.
I also want to collect more information the comparation 805 and h3.

My brothers, LG and Phillips keep giving Invalid Format when the unit powers on , I get nothing more. Can I connect it to the Dynex, Set the video to 720P 60htz. Will this allow the other TV's work oK? Or do I need to do some firmware work? Please let me know.
Hello Ianhacker,
Yest, you can connect to Dynex, it does nothing affect on the TV or other device.
Firstly, please check the blue LED blink after power on 2 miniutes and press the remote controller key.
If it is ok, you can connect them to Dynex and check whether it is still display nothing. If it is ok on Dynex tv, please setting the display mode to 720p60hz then connect to LG and philips TV, power on to check whether it is ok now.
If it is firmware version is 106k4 , you can directly press 1/a key on the remoter ,it will switch resolutions, for the reason of LG and philips TV no display maybe relate with the power on default resolutons 720p50hz.
tks.
