Use a usb pen, formated as fat32.

I actually was using fat32 formatted drive. What wasn't working was the TWRP image. I had the image as recovery.img and then I was trying to update via the update app. This was causing an issue with TWRP not processing the update.zip correctly. So removed recovery.img and then used the update application. Install went out very smooth. Then put the recovery.img back and flashed gapps (btw it contains google remote too, weird ). now everything is working.

I know you are working on something else but wondering if this will work on the rom too (specially given the openelec kernel):

I want to dualboot this off the sdcard.

As for ubuntu you need to ask loboris if he can make or make the change to the uboot to work with OE or vice versa... (none of them shared Uboot source...)
That why i dont rewrite the the bootloader, so the user choose to use the OE bootloader or Ubuntu bootloader, like that you always have dualboot
They need is to unify the 2 bootloader so is not needed to always be rewriting the bootloader if you want to use OE or Ubuntu...

I noticed one thing. The internal memory gets recognised as sdcard, the external sdcard gets named to sdcard1. What this means if I want to do a app2sd operation to move apps from internal memory to sdcard, it doesn't work. Not really a deal breaker but just wondering if that is intended?

Well it is the OE kernel, is hard coded like that.. :/
But i will check it again when i have time to see if i can fix that

i have been searching for the stock rom or updates for the Diaotec Mk808b Plus quad core Version 1.0 amlogic s805 chip rlk 8723bs wifi/bt chipset and a Sk hynix nand.
Do you know where i can find them and if i cant use your rom and install it with the amlogic usb burning tool?
i flashed the wrong firmware and dumb me didnt do a backup first

It should work just fine on that stick.
Sorry but i don´t have the stock rom for that stick, but any stock rom for 8723bs is the same, so download the must recent one(i posted a link 2 pages or 1 back o think)

Yes, well im going to try it, is a lot different from amlogic the way Allwinner structure their roms.
And im trying to port zidoo kodi 14.1 patches for HW acel. to normal kodi 15 for the beelink, not easy for me :/ but i will try it
