The firmware wasser and Ionix are excellent, but sometimes missed one other feature of either. I wondered if I could take the best of wasser and join it with the best of Ionix.
The kernel Ionix I believe this worked better and has several features that wasser not.
Ionix kernel
1.Hdmi
2.DRM
3.Stuttering removed
wasser Firmware
1. Wifi much better than the firmware Ionix and to have the entire screen without using a program to increase the screen. Ionix firmware with my box was much hotter than using firmware wasser
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I decided I had to experiment and turn these two into a custom firmware.
Tools
1. Android Tool, allowed me to unpack the firmware
2. wasser-3.1.3-beelink-i68-1000m-rk3368_box and Ionix Zidoo_r68_gigabit_v7
3. TWRP-RK3368_flash_as_recovery_partition (I got it on the website of GeekBox with the instructions to mount from the terminal emulator on android).
4. To assemble needed, Ugoo Original firmware (UT4_0.0.3.b) android tool, tool had was the memory partitions ready
Procedure:
1. Unpack firmwares
2. Use the UT4_0.0.3.b android tool, select (resource, boot, recovery Ionix firmware and only use the system Wasser)
3. I thought it was all over, the screen at the beginning gave me a distorted image, and then came the bootanimation Wasser.
4. Previously had lowered the emulator console in the play store. Mount the TWRP-RK3368_flash_as_recovery_partition, followed the instructions for mounting (GeekBox). This eliminated distorted screen.
5. I have no experience working with buildpro the firmware Waser is somewhat dull, I found reading to adjust, the (ro.sf.lcd_density = 240), the value in the firmware of wasser was 213.
6. dalvik.vm.heapsize = 512m in the 1024m buildpro fit what this allows me to run lighter applications.
7) kodi flash zip Ionix
I do not stutter, much faster, the temp of the box is lower.as you can not be running kodi with other characteristics of sound, just use the TV audio. My TV is 3D, with 3D works fine in kodi
Iam used Google Traductor

Is an hard job!!!
A lot of users are angry with Zidoo for many things not working as Zidoo has advertized.
Anyway, only from my absolutely personal point of view (I use only a part of X6 capabilities) problems refer to, for example, missing advanced recovery (I think TWRP, best if with backup/restore capability), often stuttering on video (and my videos are SD o HD, not FHD or 4K as many users watch), and not only with native or Kodi player, but also with Youtube app and MX Player, missing support for UDF file system and missing mount point for External CD/DVD USB drive, some System Setup parameter missing (i.e. Display font size, audio volumes strangely coupled each other, and some other), uPnP support missing in native player (only in Kodi, but it's by design), and other that now I don't remember.
Your mods seems directed to solve some of this problems, so a such way modded X6 Pro ROM for X6 itself, may make some X6 owner less angry (if not happy...)
Don't worry, if is a rather complicated matter, we (or at least me) confide that Zidoo developers will solve some of this issues sooner or later...
Thanks again!!!

How much of a performance boost can I expect to gain. Other then the odd movie doing a stutter thing every once in awhile my box works pretty good.
My previous box rk3188 I had flashed probably 5 or 6 times and never had a problem till the last time (bricked). I'm a little bit gun shy flashing with my new box ( 3 or 4 months old)

Hi Ionix,
I just bought a Tronsmart R68 Orion bu returning it for a Zidoo X6 Pro. In the meantime I want to flash one of the roms just to test. I know how to get twrp installed and custom roms as well as root on an Android Tablet like the Nexus 7 etc but not sure how this all works on the TV boxes?
Are the bootloaders unlocked or easy to unlock as it is on the Google Nexus 7 for example?
They supplied and OTG cable but the end to connect to PC is female and that makes no sense. I tried placing the flash drive there and booting the tv box to it with the rom zip then image and it would not read the flash drive. I placed the rom on a Sdcard and from the recovery partition I boot to bootloader then hit the power button once and nothing happens?
Should I connect the TV box to the PC via ethernet and and flashing tools you provided a link to to flash the image onto the tv box?
Thnaks

You need a micro USB to USB male cable, used for cellphones to flash.
Then hold a paperclip in the recovery hole wile pressing the on button.
