I've tried several revisions of both the Tanix and Vorke firmwares on the older TX8. They do work but I get many of the same problems all of you seem to be having. The latest firmware for the Vorke Z6 (not plus) has been the most stable version I have found that works on my TX8. The Netflix app in the Vorke firmware only shows up to 480p while the Tanix firmware went up to 1080 but the tanix firmware reboots at times and many apps (especially Youtube) crash often. For me, the trade off is worth it for a stable box.

I know this isn't quite the correct thread for this but I thought it may help owners of TX8 to know that TX92 (3/32) and VORKE Z6 (not plus 3/32) firmwares work on the TX8 2/32. I even tried Tanix's beta build of 7.1.2 for the TX8 max (32G) and it works VERY well but no play store and VERY "vanilla." I could live with that except the play store couldn't be installed at all.

Anyway, I'm seeking help as I've scoured what feels like the entire web looking for a specific firmware for my TX8. I have 3 TX8 boxes, two of which work flawlessly, the last however was what led me to try other tanix and vorke firmwares to find out these work. At any rate, is there a way to make a copy of my other TX8 box firmware to flash to the latter? The firmware is dated 20170418 for ap6255. The latest I can find anywhere online is 20170105 (for ap6255). [the 20171029 firmware is for 9377]

Can anyone here point me in the right direction to a.) find the firmware for TX8 6.0 20170418, or b.) point me to where I may learn how to make a backup of the rom on the other boxes with TWRP or similar?

        Thanks in advance!

Which TANIX firmware allows Netflix to run at 1080p? Are you talking about TX92?
No one else reported something like this.

Have you tried the latest Tanix TX92 build dated 20171230? It's on the Tanix site.

get fewer reboots, and I haven't had any reboots since the youtube app updated recently.

I have the 20170907 and never experienced any reboot, only sometimes heavy app crashes, but youtube is fine, never crashed, i think it is a Youtube from Android TV,

I can upload if you want a copy.

Tanix firmware for TX92 (3/32/64) 20171230. I was using it on a TX8 (2/32) though, and maybe I'm mistaken and it was Youtube but pretty certain it was Netflix because when I then tried the Vorke Z6 (not plus) firmware I noticed the difference in Netflix right away. The 20171230 firmware was still buggy for me on the TX8 and so I stuck with the Vorke firmware after trying 5 different firmwares (2 for TX8, and the other three listed in post above).

Does anyone know if there is a way to make an image from one of my other boxes (same model) with TWRP or similar to flash to this box with the AMlogic tool?

Thanks for offering, but the 20171230 build on the Tanix site is working fine so far.

Youtube was the only thing that caused my TX92 to randomly reboot on this build, but it hasn't rebooted since I updated the youtube app.

edit: Spoke too soon, box rebooted. Seems to be happening less often though.

If you don't mind uploading the firmware that would be great. I kind of want to test a theory. Some Vorke owners said they didn't experience any random reboots until the latest build. I'm wondering if my box will reboot using the original stock firmware.

Just installed it at my TX92.
Didn't do any factory reset, so all my previous apps remained.
And nothing changed about my Netflix.
                    Still no HD.

I will try the Tanix version again soon and let you know. Like I said, maybe I was mistaken but I can go back to 1230 firmware and see. I am using the 1221 Vorke Z6 (not plus) firmware at the moment and haven't had any issues thus far. I am using Amlogic USB burning tool with default settings to flash the firmware though, so all of my apps and data are being overwritten like a factory reset. Will return shortly with results.

                      EDIT:

Okay, I was mistaken. I see no noticeable difference in the Netflix apps and no options for HD on either firmware. It was Youtube that is 1080p on Tanix and only up to 480p on Vorke.

Both app versions are the same on both firmwares.
                      Netflix v 4.7.0 build 7941
                      Youtube v 1.3.11

Not sure why but the Vorke firmware still seems more stable. Play store crashed on sign in (first attempt) on Tanix, as well as Netflix on first attempt to load profile. Vorke didn't have these issues but Youtube did crash on first run on Vorke. Both these firmwares are still terrible I think and I'd also like to try the original stock if anyone has it.
