Anyone could have told you that from the first day, why you didn't mention it?

I don't search the forum for every thread you start, but if you had told me that you had a Z6 Plus I could have told you from the first post that Z6 firmware isn't compatible with it.


Because I flashed the TX9 Pro firmware to a Z6 box several weeks ago, and had the same result as you that the firmware flashed successful but the box didn't boot any more.

I asked the same question somewhere in a thread, if DDR3 rom is compatible with DDR4 box, and answered myself after I had learned the hard way.

CPU: Amlogic S912 Octa core ARM Cortex-A53 1.5Ghz
GPU: ARM Mali-T820MP3 GPU

Extended Storage: TF CARD Support 1~32GB


What have I done?
I would update my new Vorke Z6 Box via SD-Card.
Display comes up with "boot" and then happens nothing more.
I switched off the box.
If I plug in the power cord, display is off, only the blue power button lights up.


I tried to flash with the USB Burning Tool 2.0.8, 2.0.9, 2.0.5,
and different .IMG Files for Vorke Z6 (rooted, unrooted, ....)
different PCs (WinXP, Win7, Win10),
different USB Cables,
with and without PowerAdapter (only USB)

the reset key does not work - if i press it, nothing happens, even RS232 does not recognize it
I think it's a Software based Reset Key

update Vorke Z6 to the right Firmware:
downloaded SD Card Firmware => see Deibi post #241

The Burn_Card_Maker v2.0.2 Tool does not really made my SD Card - but only format FAT Format was performed.
After formatting the tool gave a error msg that a file ...uboot aml was not found.

You do not need it.
Copy following 3 Files to formatted SD-Card:
q201-ota-20171027.zip
factory_update_param.aml
recovery.img


After that, start Vorke Z6 => settings => about => udisk update => (not checked Wipe Date, Wipe Media) => Select => choose q201-ot-201710.27.zip and start Update.

Wait about 5min
Z6 is rebooting => new Z6 Firmware installed.

READY ;-)

TX9 Pro is DDR3 while Z6 is DDR4.

I flashed this firmware before and the box wouldn't boot up.

May work on the Z6 Plus though, but take note that Z6 and Z6 Plus are different devices, and this thread is about Z6 DRR4, so better don't create confusion.

I did it on my VORKE Z6 PLUS !!!

My steps to success:

a) Open Z6 Plus Box (3 Screws on bottom)
b) plug USB to lower Port
c) start USB Burning Tool 2.0.8 (as Admin)
d) load Firmware (TX9 Pro Firmware 3GB/32GB Android 7.1.2 Full Image 20171101 - TANIX TV Box)
e) press Start Button
f) plug other side of you USB cable to your PC
g) short circuit (pin 5-6) in my case i tried 5-6 6-7 - without any damage
h) USB Burning Tool recognize the USB and starts to flash
i) USB Burning Tool breaks with error
j) pull out USB from PC and repeat from f)
k) so you can repeat it some times (i think i repeated 3 times -- 2% to 4% to x% to 100%)
l) start your unbricked box
m) display is upside down (because its the TX9 Firmware)
n) now, its possible to change the firmware with SD-Card Slot -- see my posting before

What is the advantage of updating the firmware? And what if I use the box with the original firmware that is already installed in it, I have just received my box and although I didn't test it yet, I wanted to collect some info.

@mistag. I was lucky after22 days to receive mine yesterdat 10.00am, I tested it with the firmware installed. IT is ok . I will not change the firmware now. I will play a bit with the box. In 2 weeks time I will have an account of its stable performance. When I said it is OK, I must add the box is superior in architecture than my H 96 Pro + .The DDR4 is playing an important role.
Test it when you have time. Good luck and enjoy the 4K.

Anyway, for the most part the box runs fine. There are just some issues and annoyances that I'm hoping someone could help me with.

1. The youtube app downloaded from the play store limits me to 720p/60 and my display resolution is set to 1080p/60. Does this happen for anyone else, or is it because I have a Tanix TX92?

2. Whenever I open chrome, it opens the Vorke homepage in a new tab. is there anyway to stop this?

My Youtube is 1080p for both VORKE Z6 Plus DDR3 and VORKE Z6 DDR4. As confirmed by others that's the max.
My Chrome open up Vorke but i change the homepage. If all failed then change to FireFox

Yeah on the Tanix firmware, my box played youtube at 1080p/60, but on the Vorke firmware I max out at 720p/60 for some reason.

In chrome I have my homepage set to google, but when I open chrome, it opens google, plus the vorke website in a separate tab.
