Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and to Android in general. I recently bought the CX-919 and figured out most of it's quirks and figured flashing was the next step.

I first tried flashing with Finless 1.6; afterward, it was unable to get past the boot screen and was rebooting continuously. After several more attempts and some trial and error, I found that the CX-919 now needs to be powered from both micro USB ports to function. Has anyone else experienced this issue or is this what Finless was referring to about "boot issues"?

Hi there.Welcome most reboots are caused by a week power supply,The one that comes with the unit is total rubbish it might say 2amp on it but your lucky if you get 1 amp from it, best bet is to throw that away & get a good 2 amp or even better a 3 amp one,, it could even be your power lead that came with your cx919 YES that's rubbish too..But good choice of tv stick the cx919 is one of the best out there & with a finless rom on it there awesome

Yeah, I noticed that it came with a weak power supply, so I only used it once. But I'm using a 5V 2.1A AND a 5V 1A right now; the 2.1A plugged into the regular power and the 1A plugged into the OTG. This was the only way I could find to operate the CX-919. I'm probably going to RMA the device for another because of another issue I thought would be fixed with a firmware update, I just wanted to make sure that I didn't repeat it with a second unit. Loving the first one dispite the issues.

UPDATE: So it looks like the USB cable that came with the unit is also suspect. I swapped it out and it now runs on a 5V 1.2A power supply like it should. An issue where the screen goes blank for a moment is still present, but it does not appear to be related for firmware. The main lesson here is just to toss the packaged PSU and cable.

I dont think so, i use a logitech wireless keyboard and i can turn the device off, but not on again. I leave it on 24/7...

CTRL-ALT-Delete from your logitech wireless keyboard will reboot the CX919. Hope that helps.

Anyway, i use it as a samba server (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653336) at home, so it is actually supposed to run 24/7

working Finless 1.6b 24/7, perfect play from USB storage and streamings from web, using XBMC 13.1 alpha and MX pro player....
YouTube works great! Chrome works great!
only Esexplorer looses the USB storage (mounting/ unmounting) sometimes, i dont know is apk thing or what, because i can access via FTPserver without issues (ideas?)

no reboots, no freeze, rom work very well! Thanks BOB and forum

Bricked during flash??

Hi All-

I just downloaded and installed the rom with all the directions as noted from Finless's instructions. But when I plugged it back into the HDMI, nothing seems to be happening, no video or anything at all aside from the light on the unit illuminating. So I tried to go back to my computer and just flash it again, but now when I attempt this, I can't seem to get my computer to recognize it as plugged in via USB. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions as to where to go from here? Thanks!

your device is cx919? date of purchase? there are some new cx919 with some flashing problems, i wonder someone can help you, i never have any problem with Bobs roms and instructions, good luck!

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, it is a cx919; purchased 11/10/13. However it wasnt purchased through geekbuying, I picked it up here.

it seems that some of the devices has came without any hdmi video output
I got one of them , Tried the Finless with MK809III KERNEL (attached link) that helped to bring back to life my device
Don't use the kernels in the Finless package .

IDB Download Failed during flashing

Hey guys,

Not sure what happened, but my CX-919 failed to provide me with any signal (HDMI "no signal"). I decided to wipe the IDB and flaesh the v1.6b ROM. Erasing the IDB is fine however when trying to flash the ROM, I keep getting stuck @ "Error: Download IDB Failed" followed by a "Error: Run failed"

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

yesterday i flashed the cx919 from stock to finless 1.6 and all was good except i couldnt turn the wifi on, tried a older rom, same thing, an older ofw same thing, i tried neotv fw same thing wifi wont turn on. sent the sellers on **** a message and they sent me a link to new ofw, i flashed and wifi now works again

Either there is a new clone in town for the CX-919 or maybe you have a CX-919ii ?
