I wish i could but it worked for me on two devices. I installed 3.0.2 as a clean install initially. I had horrible playback issues and sound drop outs. I also had the random display flashing issues other users reported so i did a clean install of 2.0.9 which worked perfectly. As a punt, i figured i would try 3.0.2 again and just did a firmware upgrade from 2.0.9 to 3.0.2. For whatever reason this worked and yielded smooth playback with no audio dropouts using Wassers Kodi (i did not try mx player as i don't use it).

Since this worked for my R89 i decided to give it a try on my Ubox. I first did a clean install of 3.0.2 and had the same playback issues as above. I then installed 2.0.9 and then did an upgrade to 3.0.2 which again yielded smooth playback with no audio issues.

I'm sorry I can't explain it! It could be random luck or it could be that a 2nd install of 3.0.2 does the trick for whatever reason. In any case it's certainly easy enough to try out to see if it fixed your issues

      I confirm what slyger said.

Yesterday I tested latest kitkat rom of wasser for R89( 2.0.9a) and I couldn't get kodi working properlly with HDMI passthrough. After reflash R89 with 3.0.2 Lollipop, for a reason I don't know ,wasser kodi can play any video (DTS or DOlby DIgital). None sound issue , flashing nor Low voice pitch issues ocurred anymore.

      My equipment:

      R89:3.0.2 wasser rom
      Yamaha rcv365
      Tv Samsung 40d6530sw
COnnection: R89 connected to yamaha receiver with HDMI with HDMI bitstream.

So the WAV files played, and the flac files?
Most off the time i use xbmc to play my music versus movies.
Mx player and xbmc, vlc all downsample the audio, but i dont use this rom..Yet..

And Sesame Street is always good, but cripsy clear with that kind off speakers!
Glad mine are older already, its now only the other way arround...They keep me awake .
Yes, FLAC and WAV both sound awesome in Wasser Kodi. I used HDMI passthrough. As far as I can tell they are not downsampled.

How exactly are you guys doing the upgrade? Are you ...

            1) installing 2.0.9a
            2) reboot into recovery mode and using Update via ADB?

Or are you using the Upgrade Tab in the Android Tool 2.3 to upgrade the firmware?

Thanks Amclean123 4 testing the flac and Wav files.
So the receiver showed the same bit and sample rate in the display?

I would like to know if it also works with Spdif the same way, because for my receiver i use only spdif. It works with my laptop but not with the Beelink box, if i play high bitrates true spdif.
I ll hope it works, because Lollipop has a much better sound engine what also supports usb dac's etc..

And what is youre opinion with youre speakers versus the sound?

I just tested Spdif and it works the same as HDMI. Unfortunately my receiver display didn't display the bit rate. It just says PCM.

I tried the latest version of Kodi 16 and my receiver display didn't change.

i just used the upgrade tab in Android Tool 2.3 for both of my boxes. Def try it out and let us know! It will be awesome if it works for you as well. If it does, perhaps Wasser or someone else familiar with the details will be able to explain why it works

I spent some time testing this tonight. The upside is that this fixes the flashes on the screen. The downside is that passthrough for Kodi, Wasser Kodi, and SPMC still doesn't work. Wasser Kodi is the closest but it still has audio artifacts that can be heard when doing a comparison with passthrough on and off.

Maybe file structure issue. Mask mode on mine right don't flash sd boot loader on this rom lol... oh well back to it.
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

On a completely differnt note: I'm still on 3.0.1 on my orbsmart s91 and I noticed that system partition is almost completely full. It wont even install busybox.
Is that due to lollipop? How do you guys handle it? I'm hesitant deleting stuff from system...

are you using spdif or HDMI? i've only tested with spdif and have tested movies with DTS, dolby digital, AC3 and I don't have any audio artifacts. i have passthrough enabled with each additional selected. what kind of artifacts are you hearing?

I initially tested on HDMI. I tested SPDIF and it seems fine. The audio artifacts (over digitized voices and sounds) seem to only be when HDMI audio is used.

Hi, Thanks Wasser for this new firmware 3.0.2

                                My report :

                                -> fresh install
Then I just install Kodi 15.2 and spmc 15.0

I still get the same issue with DTS and passthrough:
kodi : some audio gap (every arroud 5s, very enoying)
spmc; big noise instead of sound track ! (unusable)

Both works without passtrough (but no 3D sound, stereo only)

does someone can play DTS with passtrough ?
