if you have a button on that remote you don't use and it has a scancode I could change it to the power button
Here is an example with the esc button on the back of the remote Flash4.zip (hold for power menu)

Ok. Great news. Through the terminal app I looked into the logcat and it founds an error on the kl file, something about Expected key code label, got 'SETTING_MENU' that function probably isn't implemented in this box so I guess I'll try to remove it. What do you think? And I'm really sry about wasting your time.

ah yeah forgot about that, not sure what else you could do other than getting a remote with learnable IR buttons, i use this

Maybe find the stock rom the remote ships with and see if the config file is diff to the one you were gave ?

I managed to map a button to the EXPLORER I still have two buttons (Settings and App Drawer) any ideas what to I can map them?

I use Stingtv app and I always have to unroot to use it.
There is a way to use it without unrooting??

Ok. I tried everything and I don't think this rom let's me add my own IR codes, I followed every guide. And weird thing, I removed those 3 remote files and restarted and everything kept working so I don't know what is going on. I hate to quit but it has been 6 hours.

There was some weird errors with something like "meson-remote c8100580" and I found this link so I think this might have something to do with it. And btw when I removed the remote files everything was the same but the shutdown menu. It was the same color of the setting menu instead of the normal white. That's all I found out.

Can anyone tell me what a stock version is?
I downloaded and installed an update to go to 7.1.2 back in late October and I have had issues since but works for the most part. How does this upgrade improve the glitches I am now having?
Some apps don't let me use the mouse like speed test app for example. I am rooted and I downloaded another update that doesn't seem to have changed a thing. Still have apps that don't open up full screen either. That's an issue. I am afraid of bricking the box so anyone who can help me please do so. I would appreciate it.

If you use the script yes, but that's only intended for first install. or if you just re-flashed stock from v7

You can just flash the zip over v6 to keep data, for best results wipe "dalvik cache"
