Not having 4k sucks but what can I do lol. I will just wait until the stock youtube app gets updated, then try it again, hopefully its fixed.

The lack of a right click and/or long press to open context menu within browsers is annoying though.
Ctrl + ESC gives you the context menu. I can scroll suggested videos with Smart Youtube. You press back button when launching the SYT app and select 1080p version. That gives you the ability to scroll.
The last version of official YT app sucks. It can not be kept in ram when switching apps. The latest one does solve this problem. However, it brings more problems...

Its not working for me in chrome browser it does nothing. By context menu I am talking about in web browsers. Like how you can long click on a link and it opens up a menu with options like open in new tab, download image, save this link.....etc.

Right now the only way I can open a link in a new tab is by using ctrl+left click. Ctrl+ESC does nothing. ESC on its own goes back.

Basically in puffin browser pro (full android version not the TV version) ctrl+ESC works but it doesnt bring the "context" menu it just brings up the menu. In chrome browser it does't work but the remote has a dedicated menu button anyways or you just click on those 3 dots.

What I am looking for is basically the menu thats to pop up whenever you long click on a link or image that gives you options specific to that action.

This is doubly bad since the long click to bring up context menu doesn't seem to work on android TV or at least with all the browsers I have tried. So if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated. I dn't really care for the rightclick thing but it would be great to get the long click to enable context menu back.

You know? how you can long click on a link or image and a menu comes up asking to open in new tab....etc? Yeah that.
External keyboard helper has a feature that can try and remap the right click (it doesn't always succeed though). It also helps with the Enter key, by remapping or by enabling the failsafe more. Google is your best friend in this case.

Remapping the right click isn't really the issue......... I can't be the only one having this problem.

Ok. If any of you try and use this device as a web browser, say using chrome or Puffin (or any browser for that matter), nothing happens when you long click on any clickable item.

On smartphones, and on the box I used before this that was running android 4.4.2, doing a left click and hold (long click) on any clickable field will bring up a contextual menu specific to that item. If its a link you will see options like "open in new tab", "copy link address", "save link address"....etc. This action is equivalent to what you get when you right click on a clickable field if using a PC.

That isn't working here. But the wierd thing is that if you highlight anything in the address bar and long click on it the context menu pops up giving you the option to copy/paste the url. But it doesn't work anywhere else.

If so, that's probably the limitation of Chrome on ATV.

Long click works exactly as expected in Firefox. I am not using the stock Rom though.

Imagine that, the one browser I didn't try happens to be the one that long click works in. This means its just an ommission on the part of every other browser. Cause its working in firefox.

                Thanks for the heads up.

                  Two questions....

                  1. Any chance we get this ROm on the M8S L (LB) version?
                  2. Any chance of their being an Oreo ROM for this device?

For those curious to see, attached are screensots of the UI and chrome. One with UI at 1080p with stock DPI of 320, then the others are at a DPI of 200.

While you can force the device to render the UI and certain apps at a higher rez, there is no need to do it.

Test Emby client and see what it looks like with the different DPI's.

Sorry I don't use Emby, but from the little I saw when I was trying to install it and get it running it worked ok. Couldn't get past the Ip/domain name screen though as i do not have a server for it to see or whatever. I use this box as my media centre, connected to a rather sizeable external HDD.

Funny enough I don't even use Kodi and whatnot anymore as i have found Archos Media player does everythingI would have wated kodi to do with the added benefit of allowing me use an external Player for my videos (great way to get around videos that archos doesn't support)

Well... don't flash unless there is a fix for it. I have the same version of this device and opted out of flashing this Rom. Its not just wifi you will have problems with but bluetooth too. And as such won't be able to get past the set up screen wehere you are required to pair the bluetooth on the remote.

It also doesn't help that the chef of this ROM has been MIA for a few months now.

Technically it should be an easy fix, kinda just swapping out files from the current version of this ROm and replacing them with the stock wifi/blutooth files in the stock rom to ensure compatibility with the LB devices. But unfortunately I have no idea how to build or package a ROM.

I don't think the youtube issue has anything to do with temps. I have my device sitting on a USB fan, highest temp I have got is around 57C. And I don't even play youtube at 4k, but rather at 1080p. It froze every single time till I switched youtube apps.
