T-R42 - wasser firmware - JB Android 4.2.2

Hello, I am writing from Spain I have had a problem loading the rom waser I was wrong and the rktool tool instead of clicking restore I pressed upgrade, the t-r42 loaded the rom and it worked without problem until I off.
Now not start I tried to install the rom geekbuying and no way, it is curious that if the pc recognizes the T-R42 can do.

1. I didn't say all boxes. Read again.

If your upload speed isn't being effected then there's no issue, but considering I have a 75Mbit/10Mbit connection, and on every other box I own I get minimum of 15/2 including my cellphones that get 30-45Mbit all day everyday and these T-R42 boxes get below 1/1Mbit. I have multiple routers, E4200, N56U, and a couple of crappy G routers and all of them get crap speeds with these boxes.

I'm awaiting a firmware update from multiple sources. If the connections are not fixed I'm getting my money back.

I did some more tests.
At work I have no problem when I connect to the open wifi network.
Good download speeds.

I noticed also at work I cannot get an ip address with the protected wifi network.
So I think the workaround I did with a static ip address is giving me the unstable and low download speeds.
Anybody else having this problem with dhcp ? (not being able to get dynamic ip address)

How can I Flash the OC kernel files only?

Can i Use Rom Flash Tool 1.37 and i browse and check only kernel.img?

I auto quote, I've managed to fix the T-R42 off current and have restarted the pc, I connected the T-R42 back to the stream and I have connected to the same USB port where you install the rom first waser . thing has recognized the pc and flaseho tool and I was able to load the stock rom, and it works.: BANANA: BANANA

now I can see that we are no more focused on the real issues here. I personally think we should concentrate more on the basic functions until this firmware solves the basic issues.

A lot of you say that the firmware plays perfectly but I cannot confirm that. I am still having problems playing the most popular files around (with xbmc and some other players), some of which are 1080p mp4, 1080p wmv and 1080p ts (1080p mkv files plays astonishingly well but not perfect). Streaming with smb cifs, dlna, nfs yielded same negative results. In most players I have tested, 1080p files stutter but watchable while same files are in xbmc horrifying with or without libstagefright enabled.

Now my question is, is someone working on a better version?. I am using wasser's firmware version 1.2.3 with the preinstalled justxbmc. I even tried to configure mxplayer as default player without luck (would have been a better option because it plays those files better than xbmc default player).

Maybe I am missing something, because no one has complained about these issues in this forum. If there is any solution your help would be appreciated.

For those of you who have T-R42 V2.0 please leave this thread and checkout the Lewy20041's thread for V2.0. I think wasser can concentrate more on us with V1 without you slowing him down. Lewy has decided to stick to V2. and ignored V1. This is the only thread on the internet that supports T-R42 V1. T-R42 sucks and lacks support and its only wasser, for now, who can make it usable so please give him some space.

But in stock firmware doesn't work LAN connection. I'm trying different other custom firmware (and this 1.2.3 version), but in no one LAN not work.

Do anybody have the device with PCB same version? Does in your device LAN work?

I think what this is new modification T-R42 with other type LAN controller. How I can check controller type?

Thank you for answer. I check LAN with other cable and it start work. Old cable is cross, but with it perfectly work my other BT351_v.1.1 box.

I'm trying load Wasser 1.2.3 firmware to this new modification box (k3188_box_szy_x6 v1_0 131024) and LAN yet not enabled. Wifi and bluetooth worker well.

I still have question - in what is differences between PCB BT351_v.1.1 and v.1.0? Cаn Wasser make your firmware and for its boards?

I don't understand why all custom kernels give the same result in frequencies of 1200 MHz. Am i wrong with flashing them? But i'm sure i do right flashing because original 1.2.3 firmware has 1400MHz kernel. So when i flash any other kernel from the begining of post i have got just 1200-1200 (min-max) with CPU Z.

For the xbmc play back, I have tried all the custom rom/OC kernels and the only thing that would work nicely with 1080 video is using external MX player, which you need a correct xbmc version for that. Don't try to modify the official frodo version, a lot of headache and pain..

First for XBMC to work you need to enable hardware acceleration this is done in the buildprop of your device, That's why your findings are bad ,
I am working on a version to share here soon that can play back full 1080p videos and streams using XBMC built in player I Will post it here soon ,it is using rockchip hardware acceleration ( stagefright ) and plays all formats with no problems I am just recompiling a new build with plugins and repositories built in so I will post my work soon B-)

Thank you very much for at least trying to find a solution to this mess that has befallen xbmc.

It is quite a nice player/streamer and one of the most stylish palyers out there. I am currently using XAF build but it is quite terrible to use - it just crashes even if it senses that you are about to press a button on your remote. But the good part is that it plays 1080p using MX-Player quite smoother.

MX-Player on the other hand complains very often that it cannot play the video on some certain streams. God help me! nothing works well with xbmc on android, it doesn't matter what you do or what you are trying to achieve. Maybe everything will be smooth later but I have wasted so much time trying to figure out what works well.

We all, xbmc lovers, on this thread will highly appreciate your work if you can make a smooth 1080p posible on this device.

And I hope it will happen soon

i tried this skype version,

but skype did not work
and when i tried to adjust the settings the t-r42 crashed and after some seconds has shut down
then i had to restart it manually

so i unistalled it

it seems the problem is not caused by skype, but the camera... seems that sometimes the camera goes to a status where it is not possible to 'wake it up'...
in this status, triying to open the 'ICS camera' , the app crashes...
