Your thanks are premature, I'm afraid. I still see the red square occasionally with Chrome. It's now up to Wasser to debug this issue and hopefully fix in the next version.

Wallpapers, it's been a hell ever since with this device, i use APOD for that, it either crashes or doesnt update the wallpaper. Even trying to set a picture from the gallery, it says it succesfully did but it just shows a black blank background. It worked until like 3 days ago, i am doubting on the trimmer...

i cant live without my galaxies

I'll stick to my opinion, a lot of your explanations have lead me to the right answers. Besides, you explained the issue way better then my words did.

          Just noticed one small issue.

When I go to Settings=>Apps and select any app, I can not select any other apps without going back to the Settings then returning to Apps.

Question - Can i flash back and forward between 4.2.2 roms and 4.4 roms in Clockwork recovery?

I absolutely hate the fastbook flash procedure by now - half the time it fails with some random error (test failed, download failed, download check failed, reset timeout.. grr).

The following is a crosspost from my findings of the strauzo rom:

I found out that USB Audio devices are not automatically on with android 4.4.

This can be fixed by editing

            audio_policy.conf

            devices AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_USB_ACCESSORY|AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_ANLG_DOCK_HEADSET|AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_D
            GTL_DOCK_HEADSET

Might get us a little closer to getting the normal audio settings back in this rom.

In short, no. You can not flash the main boot loader or the parameters in CWM.

Well, seems like we cannot be spared from strange stuff on KK either. I had numerous restarts the last 24 hours and two shutdowns .

Any possible way to identify whats causing them? i have to say, the most stable kernel so far was the one that started supporting ethernet, the strangeness of these devices just kills me sometimes.

                  What to do?

                  Hi Wasser,

Double check because yesterday i had a crash ....what to do when installing your rom with 1080p kernel?

I need your 0.92 package and must replace the kernel with the neox7-1080p version.
What to do with the available OC kernels? Can I skip these?

When i tried this yesterday my default Minix mouse was not working. Do I have to change or add something else?

When i'm correct the 0.92 package is not working, because the default loader is rockdev\RK3188Loader(L)_V1.24.bin instead of v2.08. Yes I know, you can change this easely..but for a newbie like me you wish that it will work without changing a lot!

have you tried this kernel? http://www.freak-tab.de/wasser/kernel-neox7-1080p.zip

this kernel supports stock ir remote and it should be stable as the the kernel-minix-x7-110114-2.zip.

could someone reproduce this issue too?

                      1. you don't need oc kernel. Please use the standard kernel.

                      2. you need loader v2.08 for kikat. it included in the 0.92 zip

i tried the "kernel-neox7-1080p.zip" and as soon as it reaches boot animation it crashes with pixelation effects.

also, the kernel "kernel-minix-x7-160114.zip" above is hyperlinked to "kernel-minix-x7-110114-2.zip" , whats going on here????

i've noticed the link in my other post about the wallpapers, the one that will redirect you to play store, it will do the red box thing. It seems it does it with links that open in new window, or if a pop up is blocked etc etc.

Install Chrome and just start browsing. The "red square" is an occasional flash around the screen when the app is busy. You can also google for "KitKat Strict Mode".

How do you watch YouTube videos on YouTube's site with this ROM (or KitKat in general)?

When I click on a YouTube link on e.g. Google, I get a popup for choosing whether to play the clip in the browser or with the YouTube app. If I go to YouTube and click on a video, each browser I have tested starts to play the video within the browser with no option to redirect to the app. Since Flash support is removed from KitKat 4.4, I can't easily just browse YouTube for videos.
