Just some feedback: At first the USB Burning Tool didn't pick my android box up on the PC. I then followed the steps as listed here: http://androidpcreview.com/how-to-us...firmware/3749/ . These steps worked for me and I could flash my box. I am now going to the tv to flash the SCV7A zip file

I have a green pcb and after flashing scv4 everything seems fine but when I powere off the device it appears to shut down but the red light stays on the box (so it's in basically in sleep mode) and I can't turn it back on no buttons work on remote to get it back on I then upgraded to scv7 ota and flashed fine but still same problem is there any fix for this? my pcb is green what will happen if I try the blue scv4 .....I've flashed many different boxes so it's nothing im doing "wrong" and I've tried to reflash a few times any help would be appreciated thanks.

ok my stupid idea of trying to flash the blue pcb didn't work....but my box turned on and off before I flashed it now when I shut it off it shuts off but the red light comes on and the box won't power on.....is there any fix for this I've flashed multiple firmwares and everything seems to work but all are having this problem now with powering on can some one please help me

I'm having a bit of a problem with upgrading Alfawise (green) from SCV4 to SCV7A and I haven't seen that this particular problem was addressed in this thread.

Flashing to SCV4 by USB cable worked flawlessly - seemingly no problem there.
The device boots and virtually all apps seem to work OK.

However, when I try to OTA through Update app instead of rebooting into TWRP the device simply initiates "Power off" procedure and shuts down.
I thought of using "Reboot into recovery" option but not a single rebooter option seem to do anything.
The next step was to install TWRP app from Playstore but it doesn't support Amlogic s912.

Does anyone has any idea what else can I try to upgrade from SCV4 to SCV7A?

@ LOE,

Newer Alfawise do not reboot (under this firmware?). You will have to use a paperclip to insert in reset hole(near USB port). Hold for 6-10 sec. and TWRP will boot up. Select > Install option to flash the OTA firmware from SD card or download folder(not preferred).

"Rebooters" probably needs Root to reboot to Recovery and I'm not sure if V4 is not "Root-free".
You can try using Terminal and (first "su" if Root is there) "reboot recovery" command.
Have to try it myself...

ch3mn3y Thanks very much for your help. Everything is working except for the standby issue matt59631 also has. Apps that previously complained about the box being rooted now runs as normal. superceleron, thanks for the ROM. Your donation is on its way.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I discovered that the box can be turned off and back on with remote using SCv7a. Just change the power button allocation to power off instead of sleep in the settings. It seems the sleep function doesn't work but the power off function works fine.

Edit: reboot also works well now as a result.Â*

Thank you, that did the trick.
I did the following after flashing SCV4 through cable:

Use Update app to select compressed zip image on SD card.
The device powers off instead of rebooting to TWRP.
Disconnect power supply.
Press Reset key and hold it while you connect the power supply (keep holding it pressed!).
First SC welcome screen appears (keep holding Reset button pressed!).
TWRP welcome screen will appear for a second or two - at that moment release the reset button.
The upgrade process begins.
After the reboot "Android" animation will stay on screen much longer than usual - just let it be until the upgrade is finished.

So far, this version of firmware is much more stable and usable than the original crap and the earlier SC's SCV4 version.

I have install this firmware few days ago. I have replace the Youttube apps by the one from Google store. It work fine for a few day but today, the app dont work anymore. I have sound but no video, just a black screen. I have tried to reinsall the apps and also try Youtube for androidTV but both apps have the same problem. Is it on me that have experience this issue?

im test any frimware but can not flashing with usb burning tool.

Im install the SCV4 green than ota SCV7a first time it works than its freesing or kill the apps and restarting self i can nothing do with box who can help me ?

I'm not sure what you did so far.

When you flashed SCV4(green), did you select > Erase Bootloader? (Might help...)

Did you flash SCV4..let it boot up then reboot once or twice before applying SCV7A.(Might Help...)
It sounds silly, but, flashing a troublesome box twice in a row(with the same flash) helps (from experience).

Keep in mind that superceleron's firmware mods are the best thing going for these China Boxes.
